Stephanie V. Corrao
Stephanie has over 20 years of experience litigating and counseling insurers and insurance trade groups on complex, cutting-edge insurance questions. She advises on cases involving climate change, opioid litigation and various mass tort claims. In addition, a significant portion of Stephanie’s practice involves amicus work in state and federal appellate courts across the country, addressing issues such as an insurer’s duty to defend, recoupment, notice, fortuity, allocation, exhaustion, policy exclusions, and corporate successorship. Stephanie monitors and advises clients on key developments in insurance law, as well as on efforts to change existing law outside the judicial process.
Stephanie’s representations range from providing pre-dispute advice and legal analysis of specific contract provisions and coverage issues to working to resolve complex disputes before courts and arbitrators. She represents clients in a variety of matters ranging from class action securities litigation to environmental, toxic tort, product liability, and sexual misconduct claims. In litigation matters, Stephanie works closely with experts and clients in the development of Litigation Risk Analyses to further opportunities for negotiation and settlement where appropriate. In her counseling practice, Stephanie also assists clients in revising various policy wordings, from policy conditions to exclusionary provisions.
