Parker focuses his practice on first and third-party liability insurance coverage issues. He provides advice and counsel on insurance issues arising under policies extending coverage for general liability, professional liability, cyber/breach risks, mass tort liability, directors and officers liability, and environmental liability. Parker also handles complex civil and business litigation and counseling.
Parker regularly counsels clients on duty to defend issues and often works with defense counsel to evaluate and resolve high-exposure claims. He also addresses additional insured and other insurance issues, policy-limit and time-limited demands, and bad faith and extra-contractual issues. Parker represents insurers in coverage litigation in state and federal courts across the country.
Parker also handles breach of contract and business torts, employment-related issues, contract negotiation and drafting, internal investigations, and other legal needs related to small to mid-sized businesses. Parker also counsels on reporting and reimbursement issues applicable to insurers and self-insured entities under the Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) statute, the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSEA), and Section 111 reporting requirements.
Parker, his wife Lauren, and their three children (Virginia, Mac and Wally) live on St. Simons Island. Parker currently is the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Star Foundation of Coastal Georgia. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Adoption-Share, Inc. and on the Board of Trustees for Frederica Academy.
